It is important that as a parent you take action with preparing for your child’s transition into adulthood. This process begins very early on in your child’s educational career. By the age of 16 transition goals and objectives must be included in your child’s IEP in order to appropriately plan for their post-secondary education, vocational training, employment, continuing adult education, adult services, independent living and community participation.
This is a critical time in your child’s life as the transition planning process will identify supports within your child’s community that will assist them in meeting essential goals that will improve their quality of life in the future. Our team is here to support your child and family through your child’s entire educational career.
